Land, Sea and Sky

Water Receding in Spillway After Locks are Closed

The ponds are filled with River shrimp and every kind of fish imaginable. The herons and egrets are having a very nice feast -- and so are the local fishermen.

A wonderful opportunity for some. Tough luck for others. But a beautiful image with that wide expanse of sky.

What an incredible way of life to live below sea level. Thanks for sharing

Looking good, you can see the tree trunks in the background!

Reminds me of the days when the crawfish would cross the road to get to Irish Bayou near lake pontchartrain. It was the wierdest thing, every spring they would do it and my dad would call us on his way to work and we'd go clean up. Just park and pick them up or they'd pinch you - that was fun.
Thanks for the memory !

I bet Australia wouldn't say no to some of that water!
