River Nears Flood Stage - March 31, 2008

The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers is scheduled to begin pulling some of the pins of the Spillway locks on April 1 opening the Spillway to release some of the River water to Lake Pontchartrain.

Hopefully, that will ease up the flooding but what I understand is more rain is expected up north so the river will have a ways to go before it drops, I'm afraid.
