Somebody's Bride

The Peristyle in New Orleans City Park

I am so late posting tonight--a little longer and I would have missed Wednesday completely.
I am always amazed by some of the photographers I see taking bridal photos in City Park. Some of them absolutely have no sense of place or beauty. The swans had followed me along the Bayou and were right at the foot of the steps in the water but the photographer did not use them in the background. Then, instead of going to the quaint little bridge with her bride, she took her to the one that still looked like a hurricane hit it and had no pretty background. Guess the mother is paying the bill for some ho-hum pictures.

It is tough work if done right but some many see only fast easy money with parents willing to spend loads on their little girl's special day. It has only gotten worse with the advent of digital when everyone feels they can hang out a shingle and be a "pro". This is a beautiful shot in a stunning setting. I would love to have this backdrop to work with a bride and groom. Amazing.

You should offer to sell them this one. Let them know how it should be done!

And, I will add that the swans in the picture would have been great too.

She should have fired the photographer right on the spot and hired you! This is fabulous! She would have loved this one! V

I tend to laugh at a few of the so called professinal wedding photographers here too, when we needed one a year or so ago i would only let my mum hire one guy from here because all the rest have no idea at all, so we had him as well as me and Northy heheh

Wedding photography is hard work. I'll be you would be very good at it!

Outstanding work. Wedding photography scares the dickens out of me--but obviously you have the eye and talent for it. Perhaps the bride's mother would have been happier with your work. :) v

Agree with Dennis...this is a splendid place for wedding photography, and this is a beautiful capture!

This is truly a place where some really good wedding portraits could be made, I like this overall view also.
