Some 550 Junior League members from all over the United States came to New Orleans yesterday for a four day work session helping with Hurricane Katrina destruction.
Some of them were painting the houses in the Musician's Village in the lower Ninth Ward. Some of them were replanting areas of City Park and shoveled tons of dirt, raked and planted flowering shrubs.
I took this photo during their lunch break. The two ladies on the right are representing the Junior League from Annapolis, Maryland. The one in the middle is a Perilloux niece and my godchild.
