The Fishing Boat on Bellaire Drive-August 6, 2006

Lakeview in New Orleans

WHY? Let us begin with the City fathers who play no leadership role whatsoever. Throw that in with FEMA, the Corps of Engineers and insurance companies and you have a web of total incompetency.
This fishing boat was in the 17th Street Canal in the fishing village of Bucktown. When the 17th Canal levee broke it was pushed into this neighborhood and sits about 7 blocks from its original moorings. The homeowners cannot move it because it is not theirs and City liability says "no."
The owner cannot move it because the insurance company has not decided on anything yet.
It is mind boggling.
The stalwart live oak provides it shade.

It seems a revolt is what's called for...but then if it's not of your nature to do such things it will stay just like this....frustrating !!

What's new, it's the same the world over.
Sensible people do not qualify for these jobs.

sooo decisive in their incompetence... glad to see the tree stand imperious above it all

A bureaucratic mess. You guys have really suffered as much from the government as you did from Katrina.
