The egret with turquoise lore

southeast Louisiana

I have seen this egret for three years now. It and its partner are the only ones in the rookery with the "turquoise" lore. The other birds have a yellow-green lore. I think it is fascinating.

Ah, beautiful. Love the mossy framing, it makes a soft edge that accentuates the feathers. I remember seeing this 'family' in a photo or two of yours, maybe from last year's breeding season. Excellent work. V
