New Basin Canal Lighthouse almost restored seven years later

West End on Lake Pontchartrain

The Lighthouse was knocked off its foundation by the winds and wave action of Hurricane Katrina, then further damaged by Hurricane Rita.(Click on Previous)
It is being restored and will be dedicated on August 29, 2012, seven years after Katrina hit New Orleans.
