Pigeonniere at Parlange Plantation

New Roads, Louisiana

One used as a house for pigeons (the owners liked squab for dinner), it is now used as a guest house for one or two people.
This type of building was customary in the 1800's and early 1900's when people depended upon their own ingenuity for food.

I can't imagine how they designed the interior for guests.I'm sure it's as lovely as the exterior. Love the architecture and the framing with the trees.
