The Waiting Game

This part of the Mississippi River is very deep, enabling ships to anchor while awaiting their turns at the grain elevators or oil refineries. Even right next to the shore the River is very deep.

This is beautiful! I'll be heading down south on Thursday. Gonna hang out in Houston and then to Galveston. I love the silhouettes of the ships and the factories against at gorgeous sky!

I'm in the process of reading Mark Twain's "Life on the Mississippi." A different time on the old river but still majestic in every way. Nice catch with the light too!
