A Big Island icon the Parker Ranch has undergone many changes and no longer relies on cattle ranching as its main source of income.
It has its roots in the friendship between Kamehameha and John Parker.
John jumped ship and ended up taking care of the king's cattle, marrying into Hawaiian royalty and the rest is history.
