Endemic to Hawaii. It is sometimes called the "fish poison plant."
The flowers of this Hawaiian plant are yellowish green.

The Early Hawaiians recognized that an extract from the branches of the plant is poisonous.
They used it to stun fish. The poison is harmless to humans.
