The garden is located at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Imin is the name given to the first wave of Japanese contract laborers who came to Hawaii to work in the plantations.
This is a very traditional Japanese garden with a teahouse and Koi (Japanese Carp).
The only thing missing is the finely sculptured sand and pebbles typical of many Japanese gardens.
It was formerly known as the East West Center Garden.
