Wiliwili (Erythrina sandwicensis) is endemic to Hawaii and blooms abundantly during winter months.
This tree is endemic to the dryland forests of Hawaii.
Gall Wasp infestation brought it to the brink of extinction in many parts of the islands.
Introduction of a predator seems to have brought a degree of control over the destruction wrought by the gall wasp.
