This specimen is found at The Foster Botanical Garden, Honolulu. It bloomed for about three days in mid-May 2012 and perhaps will bloom again in 3-5 years.
Noted for being the largest unbranched inflorescense in the plant kingdom. Also noted for its putrid fragrance resembling that of rotten flesh.
Endemic to Western Sumatra specimens can be found in Botanical gardens all over the wolrd and some private gardens.
