Mauretania was requisitioned for war service and was dazzle camouflaged
in the later stages of the war. In May 1915 she transported troops during
the Gallipoli campaign and later was converted to a hospital ship and
evacuated wounded soldiers from Gallipoli. She reverted to a troop ship and
carried Canadian forces to France.
