"Mackworth" fog buoy

As used in Atlantic convoys 1939-45.
Fog buoys of this kind were towed by ships in convoy during
thick fog to help prevent the ship behind from coming too close.
They scooped up small 'water fountains' (see diagram) which
could often be seen from the ship directly behind.
