Golden Lady?

The Floyds', Dallas, Texas

I'm not sure what kind of bug this is, but it sure was pretty. It had the size and form of a typical ladybug, but the wings were transparent except for the areas with the black and gold pattern.

EDIT: Thanks to DebbeeAnne for finding out what this is. It's a mottled tortoise beetle.
