Nuthatch in my hand

Kensington Metro Park, Michigan

Taken hand-held, camera with macro lens in one hand, nuthatch in the other, using natural light.

We were strolling through the park when we came upon a woman who had a nuthatch coming to her hand for treats.
She was just about to leave but let us take a few photos first, and then gave us the remaining seeds and peanuts.
Soon the nuthatch was feeding from our hands. It would land just long enough to grab a treat and then fly away.
Tricia lent me her 40D with 100mm macro so that I could take this photo.

My friend Carol told me to look at this. As a bird fancier I am so jealous. Have tried to do this for so long and never had any luck. You must really have a special way with birds. I agree with all that has been said about this photo and more. Must have been a real thrill for you.
