F-18 HORNET

RIAT FAIRFORD

I'm still working my way through the shots taken at last years Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford, hopefully this weekend will see a significant amount processed as I finally have a little spare time.

This is a shot of the F-18 Hornet going through it's paces. Although most of the day was hot and sunny, the early morning was damp and overcast and the Hornet was one of the first planes to fly its display routine. With the long display at Fairford things kick off at 10am so there was still moisture in the air and this contributed to a spectacular display as the compression bubbles squeezed the moisture out of the air. This was the only aircraft to produce significant vapour as the sun was HOT that day and the air dried out very quickly after this.

I am still adding a number of images to the Fairford gallery, to view them just click on the thumbnail below to take you to the first image in the gallery.

Alternatively, to just view thye latest uploads, clicking this thumbnail will take you to the first image of the hornet.

I always welcome comments, good or bad, as it helps me to evaluate my work. If you can spare a moment to leave a comment, it will be much appreciated. Thanks.
