Today I was glancing through a book full of photos, taken in an earlier era of photography. As I am now attempting to learn how to use photoshop, I decided to set myself a project to try and create a photograph with the look of the old pictures.

First job was to find a suitable subject. This small terrace of cottages seemed appropriate, complete with smoke from a chimney (a rare sight these days). Granted there were a few cars parked, rather inconsiderately, in front of the houses, but these were easily cloned out. After that it was a flurry of trying out different features until I came up with the effect I was after.
