Got Milk??

Rt D, near La Belle, MO

We had a little change of pace this afternoon by visiting Missouri’s largest dairy! Now before anyone makes a smart crack about my ancestry, let me emphasize that it would be udderly ridiculous to make any assertion of relationship.

Here you see 60 cows on a rotating platform that milks them as they revolve on the 9 minute ride. Below left is #1504, one of the few bulls employed in servicing the large herd of over 3500 dairy cows!

And below right is a capture of the overall setting. Note the message on the side of the milk trucks. This farm is operated by CNS International Ministries, Inc. which is dedicated to helping men and women of all ages to recover from their addictions during the 18 months they work here.

Not long ago 60 cows would have been the size of an average herd in UK!

Nice to see you joing the ranks of us 'cow snappers' !! LOL Great shots, too

I thought I had gotten on Karen Leaf's gallery my mistake. Great experience for you, I'm sure and what a wonderful ministry.

I'm thinking about all the methane gas these cows are contributing to global warming... LOL

What a shot!

Can't sleep...this gives me an idea though. Think I'll have me a glass of warm milk.

Robin, if this photo were posted on every gallon of milk sold in the US, I think we'd all turn to soy! Cool shot.

Wow--that's quite the operation. Terrific job of capturing it. V

The merry-go-round of the cows, eh? And, that's a lot of bull.

Wow walk on full the walk off empty, quite an operation Robin. That bull sure looks smug. Your three shots tell a great story.
