Old Sacramento State Park

This will probably be the last of my Old Sacramento shots. This is how the western terminus of the brand new transcontinental railroad (Central Pacific) looked in 1869.

The “Big Four” Mark Hopkins, Collis P. Huntington, Leland Stanford, and Charles Crocker were the chief entrepreneurs and got filthy rich as a result.

1/320s f/14.0 at 45.0mm iso200

Post processing was sepia toning and frame. full exif

Wow, before I read your caption, I thought this must be Old Sacramento. Nice shot. I like your black and white treatment.

Nice conversion to black and white. Impressive scene, which would have been quite impressive in the Good Old Days as well.

Good one Robin. Tack sharp and the sepia is perfect. Interesting factoids, too.

They had great ideas and pride in their work. They got rich not only because of the idea but because taxes did not take all your money back then.
