December 28: Expensive Cup Holder

Rancho Bernardo, CA

Day # 659

After many trials and tribulations (including a chat with the Dell tech in India ;-), I still only have an expensive cup holder.

The new disk drives will be shipped this week. In the meantime I'm slowly recovering files for backup.

Where can I get one of those DVD tape drives? I've heard that it's the latest thing.

Maybe if the coffee spilled into the box it would help???

Good luck (as I quickly return to the b/u chores.)

Oh no Batman... I thought for sure you would be telling us that all problems have been solved. I am sorry to hear that your computer has become just an expensive drink caddy. Keep me posted. You are going to lose anything, are you?
Mindy McNaugher29-Dec-2005 03:52
Oh, Robin, I'm so sorry!!! A very clever shot despite your trials!
royalld29-Dec-2005 02:08
It is about now, in the movies, that Mr. Spock and Scotty would beam down with the solution.
Di29-Dec-2005 01:32
I feel your pain, love. Did that whole scene back in September. Good luck!

The question is what life have you had out of this HD...was it time, or untimely, unwarranted, out of guarantee...it only happens to me at the wrong time too :>(
JW28-Dec-2005 21:59
Oh dear, this doesn't look good.

Hope you're back up and running soon.
Guest 28-Dec-2005 21:58
Yikes! What a shame.
Guest 28-Dec-2005 20:48
Whoops. sorry to hear that.
Btw, I like the cup and the coffee looked so tasty. :)
Guest 28-Dec-2005 19:45
OUCH! I feel for you as well. I think a lot of us has been there, if not just wait....(hate to say it, but it's a computer after-all!)

Hope your new drive arrives quickly!

a sledge hammer will fix it ;-)
Breland28-Dec-2005 17:38
That is an expensive cup holder Robin. I guess it would not do much more damange if it did spill.
Gary Blanchette28-Dec-2005 17:28
I feel your pain. I am starting to hear a slight hard drive noise in my 3 month old Dell XPS... I hate it when I have to deal with such things.
Herb 28-Dec-2005 17:24
Sorry to see that :(
Bob Floyd28-Dec-2005 17:17
