December 26: A Double Whammy

Warner Springs, CA

Anne was my “date” for Christmas dinner at Warner Springs. Michele (below) was our hostess. “Mike” and I met at the City of San Diego in 1980. I met Anne in a Gestalt group in 1977. They are close friends and colleagues. The two of them together delight in giving me a little bit of loving grief. Its tough for guy to handle both of them at the same time. ;-)

Both of these women are bright, articulate, and witty. I thought they both looked quite lovely yesterday. I treasure each of them.

I had a great time. A group shot is adjacent (click NEXT)

If you are wondering why I was using my 20D, well (blush) I forgot that the 5D doesn’t have a built in flash. It is a good thing I had the 20D with me also.

Sure can't hurt to have two such lovely ladies to give you a little "grief". Great portraits.

I can see the 580 on it's way now :)
And who could resist give you a little 'loving grief'. Love that phrase and know who I'm gonna use it on :)
Teriffic shots, even if they are with the 20D

A woman on each arm and a camera for all reasons. Life is good!

Gotta love that smile. Who needs a 5D when you have a woman on each arm....;->

Both are great shots, gotta remember that flash from now on tho. :)

Flash? Who needs a flash when capturing a brilliant beautiful smile like that?

You lead a charmed life , Mr Reid!

Nice pictures

(I always feel guilty when I use the on-camera flash on the 300D!)

Excellent photos, Robin.

You're right, the 5D is called a "pro" camera and "Pro's" don't use pop up flashes. They use a bigger flash, typically off camera.
One thing you could have done is shot them at a higher ISO, you will be amazed at the lack of noise at high ISO's with the 5D. Check out this photo>http://www.pbase.com/zimmek/image/52788449

Hope your holidays are fun.

Both nice portraits, Robin. So is the 20D still up for sale then ???
Johnny JAG26-Dec-2005 18:47
Nice portraits, looks like you all had a good day.
Gary Winters26-Dec-2005 16:58
I'd sell off the 5D. How can you stand a camera that Canon has obviously crippled just to sell a few flash units?

Good shots!
