Cowboys grow tall in rural Colorado. Everything is grand here. There are over 30 "teeners" [13,000 ft or higher] in the Sangre de Cristos Mountains which shadow the Wet Mountain valley. Luscious green ranchland stretches for over 140 miles across the 8000 foot high basin. The people who live here are a hardy bunch with roots dating back to the 1870's.
John C. Freemont (the Pathfinder) and Zebulon Pike passed through these parts during their expeditions in the 19th Century.
I have really enjoyed my visit here in Custer County, and I will post more scenes after I return to my high speed internet connection Monday.
