March 4th: Self-Portrait Friday?

Sydney, Australia

No this is not an SP. It is a ring-tailed possum native only to Australia. The big eyes come from the fact it is a nocturnal animal, and his keeper had just pulled him out of a dark storage area.

We spent the morning at the Taronga Zoo viewing animals unique to Australia. More shots can be found in my *** additional Australian gallery***

We had much sunnier weather today. Tomorrow, after more touring, we will see Carmen at the Opera House!

Five PaD days left!

Karen Stuebing has a friend that wouldn't hesitate a second to put this guy in the cook pot...ring tail or not... I can almost make out your reflection in the eyes of this critter. Great shot.

Such a cute little one! Beautful shot!
Isn't it cruel just to keep them and to take them out to strong light?
But probably this was the only chance to get the foto...

Looks very cute, Robin.
Carmen, you say...who the hell is Carmen. Bizet would certainly have been angry if you asked that question 150 years ago.

These are the little devils who keep me awake at night galivanting on the roof
tiles all hours & having the occasional spat. Cute photo!

In the words of Dame Edna Everidge, AKA, Barry Humphries, " Hello Possums " Now tell me, don't you think those giraffes at Taronga have the best multi-million dollar view of Sydney !!
I'm envious of you seeing Carmen, Robin.
Coleen Perilloux Landry04-Mar-2005 06:42
Now, that is clever--an SP in the animal's eye.
