The Quiet Sky

This is one of those rare days when I have been too busy getting ready for Christmas to perseverate * on my PaD. (That is a great word, isn’t it?!) Michele taught it to me, suggesting that I often obsess on things.

Anyhow, I rushed out front to grab a quick sunset, and there were NO clouds in the sky. The colors were pretty, and I thought maybe I saw a couple of unusual things up there, but I wasn’t certain!

* per•sev•er•a•tion [p?r sèvv? ráysh’n] n response repetition in inappropriate situations: a tendency to repeat the response to an experience in later situations where it is not appropriate

Hey Cliff! The fact that Robin lives here was enough to get Santa here!
Cliff24-Dec-2004 07:33
Well I can tell you one thing - Santa sure ain't flying over the North Pole :o) Are there enough good girls and boys to warrant Santa coming to California? :)
Gary Winters24-Dec-2004 06:06
Well, it's just a fine image, Robin, and in the spirit of big words, I like that Santa is monomaniacal about his mission.

So Snootydrove me to my web resources... and to save you the trouble...bou·stro·phe·don

noun

ancient writing method: an ancient method of inscribing and writing in which lines are written alternately from right to left and from left to right

[Early 17th century. From Greek, literally “as the ox turns in plowing,” from bous “ox” + -strophos “turning,” from strephein “to turn.”]

bou·stroph·e·don·ic [ b stròffi dónnik ] adjective

Ah yes, perseveration. One of my favorite words. This is a great image here robin, do you think santa's sleigh is going to go straight or will it perhaps fly in a boustrophedonic path. Ah, you see I am a word geek too. Boustrophedonic was the first big word I learned and I was hooked thereafter.

And to all a good night!
