The Twilight

Rancho Bernardo,CA

Many folks who don’t live in the San Diego area may not realize that September through November are probably the three finest months we have each year. Usually the temperature is in the 70’s and the sky is clear. Locals also like it because (blush) most of the tourists are gone.

Last night was crystal clear. When I spied this scene, you should have seen me racing around to get my tripod, my cable release, my big lens, and my shoes. By the time I got outside the best of the scene was fading, so I hurried off four shots. This is the best of them.

No moons were moved or added. All is real.

Its a beautiful shot Robin... and I completely agree with Russ's comment.

I love how the yellow tones fade to deep blue tones and that moon is perfect. I also love the silhouettes. Gorgeous.

I didn't realize until I got into photograpy, how very quickly the sky, and the light changes. I saw another great sunrise the other morning, but before I could find a place to pull over, it was gone.

Even though you lost a few minutes setting up, this is still quite nice! The moon is awesome because you can see it's entire form in silhouette. Great capture.

Yikes, I'm still shoveling snow, with my 'boots' on, and someone told me tonight the sun set. I'm so bloody jealous. This is superb, Robin. Excellent image making.

Gotta love that moon.. amazing

Robin, a great example of a waxing moon. Several days before it becomes full it appears in the east low in the sky at sunset. What this means is that you can get a great photo of a large moon hanging over/near something in the foreground in the same shot. Beautifully done.

Beautiful sunset Robin, very beautiful tones and atmosphere. I know the best time to go there now...

Beautiful shot, Robin. The last remnants of the warm sunlight are a great touch.

Certainly is crisp and clear. A beautiful sky. Thanks for sharing it with us Robin.

The uncompressed impage looks okay, Ken.
Kenneth Zimmerman15-Nov-2004 16:21
Is the sky all one tone in the uncompressed image? This one shows lots of artifacts in the blue sky.

Great shot, I hope the original looks better.

Well done.

Beautiful Robin. Great fast work!

LOL! I read your last line. You will probably have to put that disclaimer on any really great shot you take, now that you've become so proficient at "improving" them.

This is a beautiful sky. Thanks for sharing it.

Boy Robin this is fantastic! The color, and the trees really stand out.
