August 27: SP Friday - Skeptical?

Rancho Bernardo, CA

Gary Winters might be!!! He visited and took several shots of me with my long lens, and he might assume that this is his work. He got several good ones, but I wanted a real SP, so later in the day I hauled out the old tripod and self-timer to take a batch myself.
Here is an alternate shot.
And one by Gary is HERE.

This is the 5th of my 7 day plan to only use my 'big' L lens.

I agree . .I don't much care for the pink frame . .but I dig the skeptical look ! =]

You know how I feel about frames. In this instance, I think a darker frame would have set off your wonderfully silver hair better (and that's not sarcasm, that's how I really feel!).

I like all 3, but honestly, this one best, I like the way it leaves one wondering what your wondering, LOL.

Very interesting look you have here robin. It is a wonderful photo and quite inscrutable.

Wow!! 3 great photos and 2 fantastic photographers and friends. I guess I`d rather your alternative shoot because your face fill the photo, you have captured in great way that creative eyes you have.

Very nice shot

All 3 shots are nice and show you in different moods. I presume the best is the one you realy don't like. I prefer the smiling one for sure, The one Gary shot is probabely the one in which one can see you more often.

I like SPs that show what the person really looks like. Great shot this one.

Wonderful capture. I like the skeptical look.

Robin, I think of the two I prefer your other SP ... this is nice - but the other shows a more friendly fellow ... !

I quite agree with the cogent comments of Anne (Hudson Family). I like this a lot Robin. It's unrehearsed, honest, and conveys quite an interesting emotion.

My first thought was "cynical". I decided that's what you must be going for here. Great SP!

I like this one - there is something about self-portraits that is so interesting - when someone else takes it, we are reacting to their energy in the room, or their eyes on us. When we take self-portraits we are sometimes self-conscious, sometimes very honest, sometimes ironic. I'm not sure what this one is, but it does show humor and intelligence. Very good shot.

Robin, that lens is great, hope you continue using it after the 7 days.
