The Request

Rancho Penesquitos

While eating at an outdoor restaurant in Rancho Penesquitos, this little fellow smiled and begged me to feed him. “On one condition,” I said. ;-) …

Moral: It pays to carry your big lens around with you.

great shot robin, lovely detail. I hope you gave him a nice juicy titbit, he earned it.
Anne Young26-Aug-2004 12:04
Nice detail! Even with my 200mm, I can never seem to get this close. Great shot!
Karen Leaf26-Aug-2004 06:07
Yep, feather detail is great and the lighting on the right side is cool.
I feel a severe case of lens envy coming on.

Great shot, Robin. I scrolled up twice to check the detail in his feathers. Quite a lens and good job.

very nice Robin... I like the way the bird fills the frame and takes on an enormous look.
mikiruaq26-Aug-2004 03:45
He looks very impressive in his portrait. Hope he liked his treat :)

Good capture, Robin. When I'm rich and famous (or at least rich) I plan to have someone with me to carry all my big L lenses for me. heh heh.

Good show!

Yes it was handheld. Note the shutter speed and remember this lens is image-stabilized.

LOL, how nice of you to feed this cooperative birdie, although, it really looks like it don't need anymore, he is quite plump. :-)

It allways pays to carry material around, that is what it's made for, I have the 105 at the belt all time as well.
Good capture here, nice and sharp shot.
