April 27, 2008

Miami Beach on the weekend is very active. We were surprised there were not more cruising boater's here. Most of the cruisers are heading north now that the weather is starting to warm-up in that part of the country. Thereby, we were able to easily find a place to dock our dinghy when we went ashore.
Cruising boaters may not have been here but the recreational boaters were out in force. It is because of the recreational types that we like to stay put during the weekends. They do not always practice good seamanship; so I rather anchor somewhere interesting over the weekends and travel during the week.
We went ashore for breakfast on Saturday and brunch on Sunday. Saturday we ate at a sidewalk cafe, called Medi, on the beach. That is a great place for people watching.
On Sunday we had brunch at Sibilla on Lincoln Mall. Lincoln Mall on Sunday's is alive with street vendors and colorful shoppers. My photos from last year of the same area Here.

Our brunch was terrific.
We had a great waiter. His name was Guilherme. He lives in Brazil but has been in the United States for a year and a half learning to speak English. Guilherme had a lot in common with Jill and I. He is an aircraft pilot (which we both are) and he loves photography. See some of Guilherme's photos Here. We exchanged email addresses and promised to stay in touch after he returns to Brazil next month.

I'll be over for brunch in a minute.
Should I wear the yellow jacket or the red one?
