This picture was taken while crossing the Halifax Estuary. The reflection you see is from the windows of the tour bus we were aboard. I have navigated this waterway onboard S/V Shibumi many times. I have always known it as the Halifax River. That is what all of the locals call it. But the truth is, this is an ESTUARY not a RIVER. A river does not have a tidal ebb and flow, an estuary does. The Halifax has tidal influence from the nearby Atlantic Ocean, so an estuary it is. Aren't you glad you don't have to go to sleep tonight without knowing that?
