This picture was taken while crossing the Halifax Estuary. The reflection you see is from the windows of the tour bus we were aboard.
I have navigated this waterway onboard S/V Shibumi many times. I have always known it as the Halifax River. That is what all of the locals call it.
But the truth is, this is an ESTUARY not a RIVER. A river does not have a tidal ebb and flow, an estuary does. The Halifax has tidal influence from the nearby Atlantic Ocean, so an estuary it is.
