March 8, 2006

We are ready to leave Marathon,
but the wind is not very favorable for our trip out into the ocean.
So we will wait here, in Boot Key Harbor, until the wind clocks around and the sea lays down. That may take a few days.
Afterall, Shibumi is a pleasure craft not a warship.

These shots are from the past weekend when we rented a car to explore.
We crossed the Seven-Mile Bridge (shown below).
At the end of the bridge I see a guy's head pop-up over the railing.
He raises a huge **Robin Reid**/**Herb Knufken** type lens and points along the edge.
I turned off at the end of the bridge to try that shot myself.
I shoot with a little pocket-size camera, with a tiny lens.
So, I am sure my predecessor's shot was much more dramatic than mine.

I agree with Karen . . this is great
And talk about WIND . . today up here was AWFUL!!! Nice warm temps but major brush fires turned letal by the wind

wonderful perspective and great shot, David
Loved your comment that Shibumi is a pleasure craft not a war ship. Be safe, folks!

Cool shot with lots of leading lines. Makes those bridges look SO long!

Very nice. I like the perspective. Looks like that pelican found a nice perch.

Fascinating angle on the bridge/road.

Nice old and new juxtaposition. They seem to go on forever.
