Beijing Opera

With the advent of the television, DVD's and the Internet Chinese people no longer support the Beijing Opera. The opera survives now solely by visits from tourists; like me and Jill.

I must admit that I found the singing screechy and in a strange key... my cultural tastes may have been somewhat dampened by being tired from a long flight and a full day of activities. However, the show was very colorful and extremely well choreographed.

Striking costumes. And obviously an "interesting" cultural experience.

Great and colourful shots.
I must say I can't bear the singing either (never been, only heard on the radio.) I guess it's just what you are conditioned to hearing :-)
