Antelope Canyon - A Slot Canyon

Antelope Canyon is located near Page, Arizona; it is one of the side canyons that drains into the Colorado River and Lake Powell. The sandstone walls of the canyon have been carved into fantasy shapes of swirls and contours, and can be up to 150 feet (46m) tall. At times the canyon is narrow enough to scrape both shoulders. Photographs are from both Upper and Lower Antelope Canyons, which are very different experiences.

Nice to see shots from The Antelope canyons showing also the souroundings. I was there last summer but unfortunately the were closed that particular day due to risk of floating. V

There are many galleries which show photos of this famous canyon, but yours is particularly interesting not only for the quality of photography, which in your case is always at very high level, but for the approach, you show also references which allow to understand the dimension of the canyon, its structure. I’d say yours is not simply another good gallery on Antelope canyon, it’s also a fascinating documentary one.

Hi, I have seen many Antelope Canyon gallerise so far but you seem to have captured very interesting spots. You probably wish you had taken a monopod or tripod with you as the ISO1600 is disturbing in some cases (yes, I too own D300+18-200 combo). Thanks, really for sharing these. Tom
