A demonstration took place in front of the National Assembly to demand the end of bombardments by the Sri Lancan army on tamouls territories and for the recognition of a tamoul state.
The conflict in Sri Lanka took a new bend these last weeks, the governmental forces having got the upper hand over the tamouls separatists.
The Sri Lancan troops lead their final offensive against a guerrillas last square in the northeast of the island.
For a week, 25.000 tamouls civilians fled the war zone.
