Sunrise on the Seward Highway. The trees in the foreground have withered and died because of salt water reaching their roots after Alaska got struck by a huge magnitude 9.2 earthquake in 1964. The earthquake tipped the entire southern part of Alaska and thereby lowered parts of this area to below sea level.
