Fischer's Turaco (Tauraco fischeri) is endemic to the coast of Kenya, Tanzania and southern Somalia. It is considered as 'near-threatened' according
to Birdlife International, but its status needs to be re-evaluated, especially for the endemic sub-species of Zanzibar (Tauraco fischeri zanzibaricus),
which is supposed to be critically threatened and was even rumoured to be already extinct.
