Orchid 12. Arachnis Flos-aeris 'insignis' (Black Scorpion)

Mandai Orchid Gardens, Singapore

'Scorpion orchid' is the English common name for any Arachnis orchid especially 'flos-aeris'.

This orchid comes from the jungles of Indonesia. I could not find any photos of it searching Google or Yahoo. The only image that I was able
to find is a stamp issued by Indonesia in 1976.

Petals and sepals that are shinning dark maroon, near black in color. A climber to 15 ft.
