Common name: "Spider Orchid," "Scorpion Orchid"
This is the first Arachnis hybrid created in 1936 by John Laycock, am eminent lawyer and orchid hobbyist in Singapore. He crossed Arachnis Hookeriana with
Arachnis flos-aeris. Raised in the Singapore Botanic Gardens, the orchid was later named 'Arachnis Maggie Oei'.
