Scientific name: Ducula pinon (Quoy & Gaimard, 1824).
Imperial pigeons are smaller and boast less diverse colors than the fruit doves. They are widespread in the Indo-Malayan and Pacific areas.
A few species reach India and Australia. Imperial-pigeons have a broad gut. They swallow the often large) seeds of fruits whole, later voiding the seeds intact.
