I like the moss on the trees and slight back lighting here.
Also there is a tiny mine in the cliff just next to the bridge makes me wonder if it was the Welsh Gold found there. Stories of Trolls and Fairies seem to fit this area.
This is the kind of shot that anyone would have been proud of taking. I really cannot comment more as those wonderful words of Marisa say it all ! :>))
Ah, Rob, but this photo has the grace and the depth of a painting by an English master someone like Turner, just to mention one...
I have already come to visit this gallery to see it three times today.
Every time I find new reasons for considering this photo a little masterpiece in its kind.
The effect to adopt long exposure to get fluffy and soft running water is a classic, but here its renewed by the rest of the scene, which is really a fairy like environment.
The exposition is perfect and the details of the ferns are so well captured that I might reach out and touch them.
At the same time the photo is not too sharp and artificial as many we might unluckily see.
The upper part over the bridge is probably the detail which appeals me more, the light is so charming and there is a remarkable sense of depth.
You can claim to be only an average amateur because you are intelligent and modest, but you cannot persuade me.
I keep on thinking; more and more firmly, that you are an original and accurate good photographer with a natural gift for personal compositions and a talent for putting elegance in all your images.
An excellent composition Rob - I like the low PoV you got here (hope you didn't get too dirty LOL) and there's a lovely gentle top left-bottom right flow right through the frame which is very pleasing on the eye...really like this shot! V+
