Common Name: Wood Poppy, Celandine Poppy
Native. Striking plant easily identified by its deeply lobed blue-green leaves, brilliant yellow flowers, and unique 'hairy' capsules forming after flowering.
Best grown in moist soils but tolerates many conditions - may go summer dormant if soil drys out.
The stems of this plant contain a bright yellow sap which was formerly used as a dye by Native Americans. Zone 4
