1943 Beech 18 "Twin Beech".When Walter Beech branched out into the multi engine passenger aircraft market,it was already saturated with competitors.That his design was to one day hold the record for the longest continuous production run of any piston engine aircraft speaks to his success.
The Beech 18 became known as the "do everything,everywhere,anytime" airplane,able to be operated on wheels,skis or floats,making it ideal for use across Canada.The airplane met the demands of WWII as a transport as well as a multi engine pilot and crew trainer.
The Beech 18's were known as the Expeditor in Royal Canadian Airforce service.This example,christened "The Wichita Wiggler" was built in Wichita,Kansas in 1943 and served with the RCAF until 1965.
