A Dunlin, with the Peregrine in hot pursuit, flew from right to left actoss the road about 30 feet up and as the falcon closed the dunlin made a hard 180 and dropped down like a stone onto the road and having hit the ground running scurryied like a Song Sparrow into the roadside brush. I caught this photo of the frustrated Peregrine through my windshield into the glare. The Peregrine circled the spot for 30-45 seconds and then gave up heading down the bayside beach - ruining my shorebirding for a little while as everything had taken cover!
