While lots of birders are enjoying the apparent Yellow-legged Gull on the Cape (which I hope to see and photograph tomorrow), Duxbury Beach afforded me a nice look at some gulls of its own with yellow legs including a spiffy Lesser Black-backed Gull in beautiful breeding plumage. After seeing so many great shots of the "real" Yellow-legged Gull, one can see that this bird's mantle is much darker and the bill a different shape. No chance to get a closer shot to check the eye as the birds were across water from me.
