These clams are considered to be the heaviest & largest...tipping the scales by as much as 550lbs. Unfortunately these beautiful creatures, like so many others, are vulnerable because of intense commercial fishing, aquarium trade, shells sold in the black market, and the meat is considered a delicacy in Japan. Fortunately this beauty is safely in front of Sam's dock.
