A Butterfly's Eye View

Government Canyon SNA, San Antonio, TX view map

Note: The "monarch-looking" butterflies in this photo are actually Queen Butterflies(Danaus gilippus),
a close relative of the Monarch Butterfly (Danaus plexippus).
The blurred orange butterfly is a Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae) - see comment below from Zach.

Canon EOS 10D
1/750s f/8.0 at 125.0mm iso400 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

I am an experienced lepidopterist and I can say that is a Gulf Fritillary (agraulis vanillae).
