Wheel Bug

A Wheel Bug (Arilus cristatus) photographed at sunrise. The book "Insects in Kansas" (Kansas State University, 1962) says the insect is "not common but it attracts attention readily." It preys on other insects and belongs to a group insects called "assassin bugs."
