Patches of Virginia Creeper that I never noticed during the summer, like this one here that I encountered while walking in my neighborhood, are now hard to miss with their scarlet leaves. This climbing vine turns an intense shade of red before the other shrubs and trees reach their peak color, which is still 10 days away, making Virginia Creeper very conspicuous at this time of year. During the summer Virginia Creeper can be easily overlooked; I passed by this particular plant a couple of times each week this summer and never noticed it until today!
